Washington DC based, Mr. Kevin W. Williams also known as "KW", is a Writer, Producer and Director of film, television and new-media projects.  KW is also recognized as an award-winning author, Playwright, and educational trainer.

KW attended the University of Maryland where he double majored in Architecture and Business Management, providing him the expertise to become a Principal with the architecture firm Bryant Bryant Williams. His career was influenced not only by his formal education, but by the passion he discovered during his time in the University of Maryland’s media department. During those college days, KW spent many hours at the campus television and radio stations where he produced a variety of shows.  His passion for writing and producing shaped his desire to enter the media industry.

 

With an eye on the rapidly advancing digital technologies filmmaking industry, KW was among the early adopters of the new equipment and a trendsetter in using it to create video series for highlighting the ground-up construction of his clients’ multi-million dollar building projects. In 1995, KW was recognized for the Master Plan of the 20-50 Year National Capital Planning area, for which he produced a video presentation featured in the Smithsonian called “Future of our Nations’ Capital”.

 

That same year, KW was approached by the Jackson Entertainment Family to produce the commercial music video for the national launch of their new JoCola beverage.  Following this campaign, Mr. Joe Jackson promoted KW to the role of Media Marketing Director. 


By 2000, KW had made the full transition into the entertainment industry.  Soon thereafter, he co-produced the documentary "From the Hood to the Hill: the Next Generation" with two-time Emmy Award-winner, Director/Editor- Allan Holzman. KW also authored the book with the same title which is has been on Amazon’s Best Seller List. 

Additionally, KW has produced and directed documentaries such as "Tragedy 2 Triumph", which depicts the challenges of disadvantaged youth and their mentors who face tragedies while living in Camden, NJ. He is filming the sequel of the documentary film entitled "American Unity" which explores the social and political divisions in the nation, and showcases the triumphant stories of unity between individuals and groups that truly define the real heart of America.

As a Playwright, KW received front page acclaim from the Washington Post for his interactive five-part play “So How Ya Livin Now” which debuted in Washington, DC and was written for a live television audience over a five-week period in 2006.

In 2012, KW acquired the Washington DC area branch of the 50-year institution known as Columbia School of Broadcasting that has graduated over 26,000 alumni worldwide.  Here he oversees the training of our future media and broadcast professionals. 

 


KW is the visionary for establishing a new generation of film makers, television producers, writers and broadcasters, both nationally and internationally through the formation of Dream 2 Destiny Television and more recently with NuHollywood (Nu for ‘Nations United’).  NuHollywood seeks to create a bridge of industry professionals across the globe, from Bollywood, China, Europe, and Nollywood through multiple initiatives, including the creation of a connective international member database.

 

In 2018, KW recruited a ‘Dream Team’ of industry professionals for the purpose of launching the Dream 2 Destiny television network (D2D TV). The D2D TV mission is committed to producing and delivering world-class, multicultural, relevant content to their global viewership.

 

D2D TV has established distribution channels through DIRECTV/Roku, Comcast and Verizon as well as distribution in the waiting areas of 51 international airports with the initial rollout at the Denver International Airport during summer of 2018.

 

KW, along with other Emmy award-winning producers and writers are producing and writing a number of made-for-TV series to be distributed on D2D TV. Such programs include “News, Now and Then” featured currently on DIRECTV and Comcast VOD, as well as ‘Millennials Gone MAD’. Additionally, KW has written the feature length screenplays “2040”and the “Black Widow Sting” which are the first two Dream 2 Destiny films to be featured for major motion picture box office release.


In honor of KW’s extensive work with young millennials, he is the humble recipient of numerous awards for training inner city youth in TV/Film. These awards include the 2004 Freddie Mac Washington Leadership Award, the 2010 Kennedy Foundation Award (co-recipient with NJEA), and most recently the 2017 Paul Roberson Award in Philadelphia.
